Just a reminder to watch 60 Minutes on Wednesday 7.30 p.m. TV3.
Below is a link (just click on it) to watch a promo for a 60 Minutes story (TV3 Wednesday 18th 7.30 pm) about how Vitamin C saved the life of a Waikato farmer who would have died if his family had not fought tooth and nail for him.
Countless thousands of dollars were spent (not to mention the investment in high tech equipment used) on keeping this patient alive in ICU and yet all it took to save his life was a simple bag of Vitamin C.
Since that time, others who have not had access to this simple safe and effective treatment have lost their lives – very sad.
The question is – if Vitamin C can save a life in such a seemingly hopeless situation – could it be used effectively at a much earlier stage?
Many New Zealanders will be asking this question.
A few dollars invested in research may give us the answers that could prune many millions off our expenditure on health.
Meningococcal Septicemia – MRSA – NDM-1? Vitamin C at 100 mgs is unlikely to do it but at 100,000 mgs it might save many lives.

Hi, my husband and i are travelling to China in 8 weeks times for 6 weeks. We are taking our 3 year old and 5 year old children. We will be visiting some of the restricted regions of China for example the Xinjang Province, we are going to 8 provinces all told! We have choosen not to immunize the children to this point, but travelling to China does concern me. What are your recommendations, advice please
Hi vanessa, I took my son to thailand, brunei and borneo when he was six, as i do not believe in vaccinations i had all the negativity thrown at me, but the proof is in the pudding, if your children are healthy you need not worry. Eat where the locals eat, drink bottled water and have a great time. Neither of us got gastro. If one of you do pick up a bug head straight for the local chinese herbal doctor, these people have thousands of years of knowledge and remedies. Of course in an emergency go to a hospital. If you have chosen not to vaccinate your children then feel confident with that choice. They are 3 and 5 years of age and you must have experienced a lot of negativity about not vaccinating them, yet your children are well and thriving, despite what the status quo wants you to believe. I have 4 children ages 12, 8, 6, and 11 weeks and i was told that if i didnt vaccinate they would end up crippled from polio or die, yet my children are healthy and healthier than any of their school peers, they rarely have a cold, and all are bright and full of energy.

Agreed: a healthy immune system will fight off just about any common disease. I have never had the flu shot in my life, and only ever had a few of the childhood jabs of the 1960s and none other. Never caught the “flu” or any other serious illness for that matter. Nor has my wife. Our 3 kids (under 4) are all un-vaccinated and healthy except for the occasional stuffy nose. Personally, we keep tabs on our vitamin D3 levels with a twice yearly blood test (about $25 or free if you can convince your doctor to care), because without the proper level of this hormone, the immune system simply will not work properly.
